3 Position Battles to Watch: Offense

Spring practice is just over a month away now and it'll be an important time for many players on the offense contending for a spot in the starting lineup. While the coaches will say all the spots are up for grabs there are probably 6 or 7 that are locked down (McNutt and DJK at receiver, Stanzi as the QB, Reiff and Vandervelde on the line, Reisner at tight end and Morse at fullback). That leaves a couple of positions that we'll want to keep our eyes on throughout the spring and summer.

Jeff Brinson to Transfer From Iowa

Well, it is not shocking to post that sophomore-to-be running back Jeff Brinson has decided to transfer. He is the second casualty of the "too many" running back situation that the Hawkeyes have. Josh Brown already decided to transfer earlier this year. There is no announcement on where Brinson will transfer, but I heard somewhere closer to home (he's from Florida).

10 Things I'd Like to See in 2010

Of course I'd love to see the Hawkeyes go 13-0 and be national champions, or really just be competitive in every game, play well and mistake free, have minimal injuries, etcetera, etcetera... 2010 Hawkeye Roster Map

I have been playing around a little bit with some different Google offerings, particularly with the AJAX APIs. Anyway, that is probably not very interesting, so on to one of my first experiments: the roster map. I inputted the location of every player on the preliminary 2010 roster, except for those not from the USA (Jonny Mullings and Nolan MacMillan), and put them on a simple map. (Note: You need to have Flash for the map to work correctly.)
