Shortly after the announcement came that the Iowa Hawkeyes had received its first verbal commitment, Marcus Grant, @HawkeyeFootball on twitter broke the news that there were in fact 2 players that had committed. Shortly thereafter, both Rivals and Scout confirmed that JaCorey Shepherd, another wide receiver, had indeed made his verbal commitment to the Iowa Football program.

The Iowa Football team received its first verbal commitment for the class of 2011 yesterday. Wide receiver (one of Iowa's biggest needs for next year) Marcus Grant from Massachusetts made up his mind after visiting Iowa City a few weeks ago. It's too early for stars by the rating services, but here is Grant's profile on Rivals and Scout. Iowa was the second to offer Grant (UConn was the first) back in March. Syracuse made an offer later as well.

McNutt had a strong day on Saturday. He didn't have a lot of catches during the scrimmage portion, but looked good overall. His hands are just incredible.

Sandeman looked pretty good all day. He was clearly number 1 as the punt returner and was often the 3rd receiver to come in behind McNutt and DJK. This is a nice catch from an early drill.
