The high school football season kicked off in Iowa and Indiana last Friday. It seems really early to be plaing change mid August, but I'm not complaining. It was a good start to the 2012 season as all three members of the Iowa 2013 recruiting class in action came away with victories.

John Kenny

W Carmel 27 - Columbus North 7 | (1-0)
John Kenny and the Carmel defense held Columbus North scoreless until the final minute of the game. The game was close during the first half, but Carmel was able to pull away with a 20-point third quarter. No mentions of Kenny were found.

Up next: at Valparaiso - 08/24

David Kenney

W Pike 23 - North Central 6 | (1-0)
Pike was dominant through the first 3 quarters allowing just 66 yards of offense. They let up a little in the fourth, but had a big enough lead to win 23-6. No mentions of Kenney were found.

Up next: vs. Ben Davis - 08/24

Jon Wisnieski

W Dowling 34 - Johnston 16 | (1-0)
Dowling fell behind early 7-16 before rattling off 27 unanswered points on Johnston. Wisnieski had 3 receptions for 26 yards.
